Auckland Council plans suburban housing rezoning

Council maps indicate that significant areas of Auckland, currently featuring predominantly one- and two-storey standalone homes, may be rezoned to allow three-storey terraced housing and low-rise apartments under new proposals. Additionally, buildings of four storeys or more could be constructed with resource consent. Affected areas include the electorates of Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, Deputy Prime Minister David Seymour, and Auckland Minister Simeon Brown. These changes are part of Auckland’s ongoing development plans for 2025.
