Man charged with murder of Tuipulotu Vi in Pakūranga shooting

A grandfather was shot dead outside his Auckland home, with police alleging that a hitman from the United States was responsible. The 26-year-old suspect fled New Zealand and is now in custody in California, facing charges for a similar crime. Tuipulotu Kokohu Vi, known as Saia, was shot while driving a courier van on August 19, 2024. Investigators have been connecting his murder to an organized crime group based in the U.S.
