A nearly century-old vintage car was saved from a fire in Darfield, Canterbury, thanks to a call from neighbor Chris Redmond. Fire and Emergency New Zealand crews from multiple areas responded to the blaze, which began shortly before 10 am and ultimately destroyed three structures and several trees before being contained by 12:45 pm. The quick action of the firefighters prevented further loss, preserving a significant piece of automotive history.
