FAA says Boeing fuel switches are safe following fatal Air India crash
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) informed international aviation authorities that fuel control switches in Boeing aircraft, including the Dreamliner involved in the recent Air India crash, do not present safety concerns, despite a preliminary report indicating engine thrust issues due to switch position. The FAA stated that although a 2018 bulletin recommended inspections of these switches, the situation does not warrant an airworthiness directive, as investigators continue their inquiry into the incident that resulted in 260 fatalities.

Explain It To Me Like I’m 5: The FAA says that a problem with the fuel switches in Boeing planes, like the one in the Air India crash, isn’t dangerous, even though the plane’s engines had a scary moment right after takeoff.
