The United States Coast Guard in California reported six suspects involved in fatal human smuggling incidents at the state’s southwest border last week, resulting in the loss of many lives. The incidents, which occurred between Dec. 23 and Dec. 29, involved over 60 people and were deemed extremely risky due to unseaworthy vessels and cold waters. The USCG warned of the dangers of such smuggling attempts, citing potential complications like hypothermia in water temperatures below 60 degrees.
