‘Clients’ bombard ACC’s MyApp system with $1.5m in fake travel claims

In November 2023, ACC faced a fraudulent scheme involving 1044 clients who submitted over 10,000 travel reimbursement applications, attempting to steal $1.5 million through the MyACC app. While ACC halted $919,717 in payouts, $652,857 had already been disbursed, leading to a temporary shutdown of the app that delayed genuine claims processing.
