Man dies in Tapanui after ute smashes into garage and bursts into flames

A man has died following a crash where his ute collided with a garage and subsequently caught fire in Tapanui. Despite firefighters’ efforts to rescue him from the burning vehicle, the sole occupant was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, which occurred on Station Rd shortly after 3:30 PM.
