A 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck northeast of the Dominican Republic, near Punta Cana, with a depth of 29 miles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquake was felt in parts of the Dominican Republic and neighboring Puerto Rico, but no damage was reported and no tsunami warning was issued. The quake occurred early Tuesday morning and was located about 60 miles north-northeast of Punta Cana.
