4chan, notorious for its anonymous content, has resumed operations following a significant shutdown due to a severe database attack that compromised its source code and exposed users’ personal information. The blog post titled “Still Standing” explained that the shutdown was necessary to prevent further damage, attributing the hack to outdated infrastructure and financial struggles in updating their systems. Moving forward, certain features like the /f/ board and PDF uploads will remain disabled, while the moderation team seeks volunteers to help maintain the site, although financial challenges persist.
