Reports about San Francisco 49ers’ star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk requesting a trade are false. His agent, Ryan Williams, took to social media to debunk these rumors, stating, “You need better sources.”
This news follows Aiyuk unfollowing the 49ers’ Instagram page. The 26-year-old is in the final year of his contract and has been vocal about wanting an extension with the team. Aiyuk expressed his desire for fair compensation during an appearance on the Nightcap podcast with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson last month.
“I’m trying to get what I deserve,” Aiyuk emphasized. “I have identified my value as a person and player, my contribution to the team, the locker room, and the organization. If they fail to recognize my worth, that’s all there is to it. We have professionals working on both sides, so I hope we can reach a mutual agreement and continue playing football.”

San Francisco general manager John Lynch mentioned last month that they are actively negotiating with Aiyuk to reach a resolution.
“We have a good track record of working with players we want to keep and reaching agreements that benefit both sides,” Lynch stated. “We value Brandon as a player and want him to remain with the team. We are working towards making that happen.”
However, Aiyuk disputed these statements and responded to Lynch’s comments.
Whether Aiyuk will request a trade remains to be seen. Currently, he is still a member of the 49ers and aims to achieve the Super Bowl victory they aspire for.
