49ers’ Focus on In-House Free Agents

The 49ers face a pivotal offseason with 21 unrestricted free agents, but only wide receiver Jauan Jennings stands out as a priority to retain. While interior linemen Ben Bartch and Spencer Burford have starting experience, their potential departure could lead to a team remodel. The focus should shift to special teams, where key contributors like kicker Eddy Pineiro, punter Thomas Morstead, and return specialists Skyy Moore and Brian Robinson Jr. are set to hit free agency. Given Pineiro’s reliability and the special teams unit’s success last season, retaining these players is essential for San Francisco.
