Thunderstorm Warning for Wairoa, Northern Hawke’s Bay

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Wairoa and Gisborne, with radar indicating storm cells capable of heavy rain and flash flooding. MetService detected severe thunderstorms near Wairoa, Rangiahua, and Cricklewood, expected to impact areas between 1:50 PM and 2:20 PM. Residents are advised to take shelter, secure loose items, and avoid waterways. A similar warning applies to Gisborne, while a watch remains in effect for Bay of Plenty, Taupō, Gisborne, and Hawke’s Bay.
