Police and Firefighters Targeted with Fireworks
Police officers and firefighters were targeted with fireworks by a group of around 50 young people on Castle Street in Dunedin after responding to reports of the incident around 9:30 PM on Sunday. Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond stated that witnesses reported the group shooting fireworks at one another. Officers verbally warned those involved, leading to the arrest of a 20-year-old man for disorderly conduct, who was later released with a verbal warning.
