According to Hotline.ie, Ireland received almost 30,000 confirmed reports of child sexual abuse material last year, marking a 30% increase in public reports of illegal online content. The latest figures from the national centre for reporting illegal content reveal a total of 40,543 reports were received, highlighting a concerning rise in the dissemination of CSAM online. These statistics emphasize the urgency of addressing and preventing the spread of harmful material on the internet.
