The Ombudsman compelled the Reserve Bank to disclose information regarding Adrian Orr’s abrupt resignation as Governor on March 5, revealing he had temporarily stepped down on February 27 amid escalating tensions with the board, Treasury, and Finance Minister Nicola Willis. Acting Governor Christian Hawkesby took over, following concerns about a lack of trust highlighted by board chair Neil Quigley.
