Europe must act now to seize Russia’s frozen assets

The recent European Council meeting failed to increase pressure on Russia regarding its aggression against Ukraine, despite the potential to seize €258bn in frozen Russian assets for Ukrainian support. Immediate actions are needed, including segregating assets for Ukraine, establishing an international trust fund, and transferring funds to meet Ukraine’s urgent security needs, while the US must also enhance its support to deter further Russian aggression.

Explain It To Me Like I’m 5: The European Council should use frozen Russian money to help Ukraine and make sure the bad actions of Russia are paid for.
