Israeli drone strike injures three hospital workers in Gaza during ceasefire

Three hospital workers were injured on Friday when an Israeli quadcopter drone dropped a bomb in the courtyard of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, marking a significant violation of the ceasefire in effect since October 10, 2025. The Gaza Health Ministry has called for immediate international protection for medical facilities and personnel, citing the attack as part of ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement. Among the injured, two workers sustained serious injuries while attending to their duties in the hospital, which has been operating under severe constraints after prior military operations led to extensive damage. The hospital is situated in a high-risk area near Israeli army positions. The Health Ministry highlighted that such attacks threaten the lives of healthcare workers and patients, further undermining the already strained health system amidst ongoing violence in the region.

Why It Matters

The situation in Gaza has been exacerbated by repeated violations of ceasefire agreements, which have resulted in significant casualties. As of Thursday, the Gaza Health Ministry reported that Israeli actions had led to the deaths of 1,092 Palestinians and injured over 3,500 since the ceasefire began. The systematic targeting of medical facilities has raised alarms about the protection of healthcare workers and the ability of the health sector to respond to urgent needs. Ongoing military operations and tensions have severely impacted healthcare access and safety for both patients and providers in Gaza, highlighting the critical humanitarian crisis in the region.
