Six Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks during ceasefire

Six Palestinians were killed and another seven were injured in Israeli military actions across the Gaza Strip on Monday, continuing violations of a ceasefire established since October 2025. Among the casualties, three were killed in an Israeli drone strike in Deir al-Balah, targeting civilians outside designated military zones. Additional deaths occurred in Rafah and Khan Younis, again outside the agreed military deployment areas. An airstrike in central Gaza City resulted in one death and another injury, with reports indicating that a drone strike targeted individuals inside a cafe. Gaza’s Health Ministry has reported that over 754 Palestinians have died and more than 2,100 have been injured due to ongoing Israeli attacks since the ceasefire began, following a prolonged conflict that has severely impacted the region’s infrastructure and population.

Why It Matters

This situation highlights the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where violence has escalated despite a ceasefire meant to provide relief following significant loss of life and destruction. The latest ceasefire followed years of conflict that resulted in over 72,300 Palestinian deaths and extensive damage to infrastructure in the enclave. The continuous attacks and civilian casualties underscore the fragile nature of the ceasefire and the challenges of achieving lasting peace in the region. The international community continues to monitor the situation as the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian population grow amidst these escalating tensions.
