Gulf bloc calls on Iraq to withdraw UN map over Kuwait sovereignty concerns

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has urged Iraq to withdraw a map and geographic coordinates submitted to the United Nations, which Kuwait claims violate its territorial rights. GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi emphasized the need to adhere to international law and previous agreements between the two nations. Kuwait has protested the submission, which recalls historical tensions stemming from Iraq’s 1990 invasion of Kuwait, though diplomatic relations were restored in 2003.
