Syrian Authorities Gain Control of Qamishli Airport

The Syrian Civil Aviation Authority has taken control of Qamishli International Airport in northeastern Syria, following an agreement between the government and the YPG/SDF. This move aims to unify airport management under the state and enhance operational safety and efficiency. Qamishli airport, significant due to its location in previously SDF-controlled areas, has not had civil flights for 15 years. The agreement comes after a military operation by the Syrian Army to regain territory in eastern Syria.
