Iranian state television reported the seizure of two foreign oil tankers in the Gulf for alleged fuel smuggling, with approximately one million litres of diesel on board. The vessels were captured near Farsi Island and brought to Bushehr port, and 15 crew members are now in custody of judicial authorities, though their nationalities were not disclosed. This incident follows a pattern of Iran’s naval forces detaining vessels in the region under similar accusations. Last December and November, Iran also seized oil tankers in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
