Gaza: Cooking Gas Supplies Meet 20% of Demand

Gaza’s General Petroleum Authority reports a persistent cooking gas crisis despite a ceasefire, attributing it to a significant drop in gas supplies and ongoing Israeli restrictions. From the start of the truce until January 31, only 307 gas trucks delivered 6,458 tonnes, just 20% of Gaza’s needs, highlighting unmet commitments. Although 40 trucks entered last week, the total remains insufficient against the required 80-100 trucks weekly. The authority criticized Israel for delaying humanitarian aid and goods.
