Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed gratitude to Turkiye and Saudi Arabia for their support of the Palestinian people during President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s recent visit to the kingdom. He commended the countries’ commitment to international law and their advocacy for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on 1967 borders. Abbas also acknowledged the importance of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) in providing essential services.
