The Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza resumed operations on Monday, allowing 50 people to leave Gaza and 50 to return, as reported by Anadolu. After being closed for over 18 months due to Israeli restrictions, the crossing began operating on a trial basis. Approximately 150 patients and their companions are expected to leave Gaza for medical treatment in Egypt, while around 22,000 patients await the crossing’s full reopening. Israel has controlled the Palestinian side since its military campaign began in October 2023.
