Neutrality Threatens Aid Organizations

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) recently announced it would comply with Israel’s demands to share staff details, prioritizing staff safety amid the ongoing violence in Gaza, where 1,700 health workers have died since October 2023. This decision reflects a coerced neutrality in a genocidal context, raising concerns about the implications for Palestinian staff and the integrity of humanitarian operations. The article critiques how humanitarian aid has become politicized and tied to colonialism, questioning the validity of neutrality under such conditions. It argues that aid organizations must confront their complicity in violence and reconsider their adherence to neutral stances in the face of ongoing oppression.
