The armed wing of Hamas has informed mediators of the location of Israeli soldier Ran Gvili’s body, prompting Israeli forces to search a cemetery in eastern Gaza City. Al-Qassam Brigades claimed to have fulfilled its obligations under a ceasefire agreement, while accusing Israel of non-compliance. Since the ceasefire began, Palestinian factions have released 20 captives alive and returned 27 remains, but Gvili’s body remains missing. The second phase of the agreement involves disarming Hamas, further Israeli withdrawal, and reconstruction efforts, amid ongoing violence that has resulted in significant casualties in Gaza.
