Yemeni forces deploy in interim capital Aden

Yemen’s National Shield Forces have deployed new troops in Aden to enhance security and stability as part of organized plans supporting the Presidential Leadership Council. This deployment follows recent clashes between the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and government forces, which allowed the STC to initially seize control of Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra before being retaken. The STC has advocated for southern Yemen’s secession, while the Yemeni government maintains its commitment to national unity. North and South Yemen unified on May 22, 1990, forming the Republic of Yemen.
