Somalia Ends UAE Security Deals Over Sovereignty Issues

The Somali government has annulled security and defense agreements with the UAE concerning key ports, citing violations of sovereignty and national unity. This decision follows an investigation into the unauthorized use of Somali airspace by Aidarous al-Zubaidi, leader of Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council. The Cabinet also approved a law requiring federal approval for regional agreements with foreign entities. The UAE is accused of facilitating al-Zubaidi’s exit from the region amidst ongoing tensions.
