Yemen finishes evacuating foreign tourists from Socotra Island

Yemen has successfully evacuated all 609 foreign tourists stranded on Socotra Island due to recent security tensions, with flights to Saudi Arabia concluding on Saturday, as confirmed by the Yemeni Foreign Ministry. Information Minister Moammar al-Eryani praised the coordinated humanitarian effort and announced the resumption of regular international flights between Socotra and Jeddah in February. The evacuations were prompted by disruptions in air traffic amid unrest in southern Yemen, where political tensions are rising. Additionally, a new air route is set to open between Al-Mokha Airport and Jeddah.
