Romanian authorities deported an Israeli settler at Iasi International Airport due to European Union sanctions. The settler, traveling to Uman, Ukraine, to visit Rabbi Nachman’s grave, was informed upon arrival that he could not leave the airport and was scheduled to return to Israel. After an appeal from Israeli Knesset member Amit Halevi, his return was postponed, allowing him to receive kosher food while detained. He ultimately flew back to Israel on Tuesday.
