Yemen’s presidential council removes Aden governor and changes military leaders

Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council has reshuffled senior officials in the south, dismissing Aden Governor Ahmed Hamed Lamlas and military commanders Maj. Gen. Talib Saeed Abdullah Bargash and Maj. Gen. Mohsen Ali Nasser Marsa’a, all referred for investigation. Abdulrahman Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Yafei has been appointed as the new governor of Aden. This comes after Yemeni forces regained control of Hadhramaut and Mahra from Southern Transitional Council fighters, amid accusations from Saudi Arabia against the UAE regarding STC military operations. The STC seeks secession, citing marginalization, while Yemeni authorities maintain their commitment to national unity.
