29 Dead in Protests in Iran

Activists reported that at least 29 individuals have died during ongoing protests in Iran, which have now entered their second week. The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) noted over 1,200 arrests amid demonstrations against state leadership, with protests occurring in 88 cities across 27 provinces. Among the deceased are two security personnel, and following violent crackdowns, protests have resumed in major cities like Tehran and Mashhad. Iran’s judiciary has vowed to respond firmly to the unrest.
