Sudan leader expresses gratitude to Turkiye for conflict support

Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, expressed gratitude for Turkiye’s support during his visit to Ankara, highlighting the historic ties between the two nations. He acknowledged President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s consistent statements on Sudan’s situation, reflecting its significance to Turkiye. Burhan committed to facilitating humanitarian aid from the Turkish Red Crescent and expressed interest in involving Turkiye in the international Quad mechanism aimed at restoring peace in Sudan. The ongoing conflict has resulted in significant casualties and displacement since April 2023.
