Over 100 Israeli settlers enter Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem

Scores of illegal Israeli settlers, numbering 109, stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem under heavy police protection, as reported by a Jerusalem Islamic Waqf official. The incursions occurred through the Moroccan Gate, where settlers performed prayers and Talmudic rituals. Since 2003, Israeli police have permitted such actions despite objections from the Islamic Waqf, with increased violations noted since far-right politician Itamar Ben-Gvir took office. Al-Aqsa Mosque, the third-holiest site for Muslims, is also referred to as the Temple Mount by Jews, who claim it was the site of ancient temples.
