Famine conditions in the Gaza Strip have slightly improved due to reduced hostilities and better access for humanitarian aid, but the situation remains dire, according to the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC). From October 16 to November 30, 2025, approximately 1.6 million people, or 77% of those assessed, faced acute food insecurity, with over 500,000 in Emergency (IPC Phase 4) and more than 100,000 in Catastrophe (IPC Phase 5). The fragile ceasefire has allowed for some humanitarian respite, but challenges persist.
