Sudan’s Burhan Meets Egyptian Leaders to Discuss RSF Conflict

Leaders of Sudan and Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, met in Cairo to discuss bilateral relations and the ongoing conflict in Sudan involving the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Sisi reiterated Egypt’s support for Sudan’s unity and security, emphasizing that Sudan’s national security is a “red line.” The meeting also addressed concerns over unilateral measures regarding the Blue Nile and affirmed the importance of respecting international law. Burhan expressed gratitude for Egypt’s assistance amid the ongoing crisis that has resulted in significant casualties and displacements since April 2023.
