Sudan is experiencing the world’s largest displacement crisis due to over two years of conflict between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The violence, which escalated in April 2023, has resulted in thousands of deaths and millions displaced, with mothers and students facing severe hardships. The Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) aids IOM in delivering essential humanitarian assistance. Currently, the RSF controls most of the five states in the Darfur region, while the army governs much of the remaining areas in Sudan.
