Amnesty International: Rapid Support Forces Committed War Crimes in Sudan

Amnesty International has accused Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of war crimes against civilians in Al-Fasher, exacerbated by UAE support for these forces amid a conflict that started in April 2023 between the Sudanese army and RSF leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo. The war has led to over 12 million displaced and tens of thousands killed, with RSF’s recent control of Al-Fasher causing over 100,000 civilians to flee, amid reports of mass executions and sexual violence. Secretary-General Agnès Callamard emphasized the need for global awareness of the RSF’s brutality. Survivors described horrific experiences while escaping the city.
