UNSC Resolution 2803 and Its Compliance with the UN Charter

On 17 November 2025, the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 2803, establishing an International Stabilization Force for Gaza, passing 13-0 with Russia and China abstaining. The resolution was welcomed by the Palestinian Authority but rejected by Hamas, and experts labeled it a violation of international law and Palestinian rights. It emphasizes a ceasefire yet lacks a monitoring mechanism, with Israel continuing attacks. Critics argue the resolution undermines Palestinian self-determination and legitimizes the Israeli occupation.
