German Foreign Minister Calls for Security Framework for Gaza Post-Ceasefire

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul emphasized the need for a “security architecture” in Gaza following the ceasefire, proposing an international stabilization force alongside Palestinian police, supported by a recent UN Security Council resolution. Ahead of an EU foreign ministers meeting, he expressed Germany’s commitment to the US ceasefire plan and the potential activation of existing EU missions. Wadephul mentioned the importance of cooperation with Israel and noted that Jordan and Egypt are willing to assist in training the new Palestinian police force.
