Since the onset of the Gaza war in October 2023, at least 98 Palestinians have died in Israeli prisons, according to a report by Physicians for Human Rights–Israel. The organization accused Israel of systematic killing and medical neglect, revealing evidence of violence in autopsy reports and inadequate medical care for detainees. The report noted that Israeli authorities have concealed the causes of death and obstructed families from uncovering the truth. The Israeli army’s offensive on Gaza has resulted in over 69,000 deaths, primarily among women and children, prompting a ceasefire on October 10.
