Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has directed the Foreign Ministry to file an urgent complaint with the UN Security Council regarding Israel’s construction of a concrete wall in southern Lebanon, which extends beyond the UN-demarcated Blue Line, violating Lebanon’s sovereignty and UN Resolution 1701. The complaint will include UN reports confirming that the wall has made over 4,000 square meters of Lebanese land inaccessible. Tensions in the region have escalated due to Israeli military actions, including air raids targeting Hezbollah, amidst a ceasefire agreement. The Israeli military’s presence and ongoing construction are seen as clear violations of Lebanese territorial integrity.
