One in five children in the Gaza Strip has missed essential vaccinations over the past two years due to Israel’s ongoing war and blockade, as reported by UNRWA. A catch-up vaccination campaign, supported by WHO and UNICEF, is set to launch to reach 44,000 children in Gaza. The health crisis, exacerbated by restrictions on medical supplies, has resulted in a near-total collapse of the health system, leaving hundreds of thousands unvaccinated. Since October 2023, Israeli attacks have claimed nearly 69,000 lives, primarily affecting women and children.
