Pakistan and Qatar Discuss Defense Cooperation

Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari met with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha, where he proposed to expand defense cooperation between the two nations, a suggestion welcomed by the Emir. The leaders also discussed enhancing collaboration in agriculture and reaffirmed their historic ties. Zardari praised Qatar’s humanitarian efforts regarding Gaza and its role in Afghanistan talks, while Sheikh Tamim expressed intent to visit Pakistan soon. Zardari’s visit coincided with the World Social Development Conference.
