The Hind Rajab Foundation has filed a criminal complaint in Germany against former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert for war crimes related to Israel’s 2008-2009 military offensive in Gaza, known as Operation Cast Lead. The complaint, submitted by German lawyer Melanie Schweizer, accuses Olmert of responsibility for the deaths of over 1,300 Palestinians and extensive damage to infrastructure. The Foundation is urging German authorities to investigate and potentially issue an arrest warrant. Dyab Abou Jahjah, the Foundation’s director, emphasized the need for accountability for war crimes regardless of time elapsed.
