Red Cross Requests Safe Corridors for Sudanese Civilians

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has urged for safe humanitarian corridors in Sudan to facilitate the evacuation of civilians amid escalating violence between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). ICRC spokesman Adnan Hezam highlighted the worsening humanitarian crisis, particularly in Tawila, as military operations hinder aid delivery. The RSF’s recent control of El-Fasher has led to reported civilian massacres, prompting calls for accountability. Since the conflict began on April 15, 2023, thousands have died, and millions have been displaced.
