The British government has officially removed Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) from its list of proscribed terrorist organizations to facilitate engagement with Syria’s new government under President Ahmed Al Sharaa, following the fall of the Assad regime. This decision supports UK priorities in counter-terrorism and chemical weapons elimination, amidst renewed diplomatic relations between London and Damascus.
