1,000 people leave Darfur city in two days due to insecurity

A total of 1,070 people fled El-Fasher, North Darfur, over two days due to worsening security, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM). The city has been besieged by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces since May 2024, amid ongoing conflict between the Sudanese army and RSF that has resulted in over 20,000 deaths and 14 million displaced since April 2023.
