The UN Security Council will hold an emergency session on Saturday in response to Israel’s decision to “take control of Gaza City,” which has faced widespread condemnation, as requested by the UK, Denmark, France, Greece, and Slovenia. This follows Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s announcement of plans for full occupation, amid rising outrage over the deaths of over 61,000 people in Gaza since October 2023.
