The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has opened a “Safe Home” in Port Sudan to support women and girls affected by the conflict that began on April 15, 2023. Launched under Turkiye’s “Year of the Family” initiative, the center aims to provide psychological treatment and vocational training for displaced women from conflict-affected regions, enabling their independence. Attendees at the opening included Red Sea State Governor Mustafa Mohamed Nour and Turkish Ambassador Fatih Yildiz, who emphasized the center’s role in rehabilitation and TIKA’s commitment to Sudan’s future.
